2018 mardi grasMardi Gras with Band

Tuesday, February 13 at 3:00 in the Lobby

Come Celebrate “FatTuesday”. It all started in medieval Europe with traditions having to do with enjoying the “fatted calf ”, and has grown over the centuries from parading the fatted calf down the street, to the full-blown parades we know today that have little to do with fatted calves and everything to do with colorful costumes, food, and fun. So we won’t have a fatted calf, but we will have music, food and fun!

February Employee of the Month

cynthia colinCynthia Colin

Cynthia was born in San Clemente at the hospital right next door to the Villas! She went to Las Palmas Elementary then Bernice Ayers middle school and then San Clemente high school where she graduated in 2013. She came to San Clemente Villas in 2011. One of the girls in the kitchen had suggested she apply. Cynthia started as a server in the kitchen, and still does that on Wednesdays.

Two years ago Jing asked Cynthia if she wanted to train to be a Med-Tech, and she did want to. Cynthia’s favorite part about being a Med-Tech is that she gets to socialize on a one-to-one basis with residents. She is a Med-Tech on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Cynthia has a one year old at home, Leyla, which keeps her busy she says.

I remember, we had a baby shower for Cynthia here at the Villas! Cynthia’s favorite things to do in her spare time are going to the gym, and going out with her daughter. If Cynthia wasn’t working here her dream would be to be a nurse! “Maybe in the future!” she says. We honor Cynthia as Employee of the month who said as she was leaving our interview, “I’m really happy working here, that’s above all - that I love
